Oriental Medicine
In addition to Acumoxatherapy (Acupuncture & Moxibustion) there are many specalised branches of the Oriental Health Sciences including:
Food as Medicine
In Oriental medicine, foods are classified according to the 4 major food groups, the five tastes and their natures. Thus, a food or a combination of foods can either aggravate conditions or be used to harmonise. Nutrition and the energetics of food are discussed in a treatment to assist in incorporating the principles on a daily basis for both maintenance and remedial purposes.
I-Ching Astrology
The spiritual lessons of the sages are embodied in the I-Ching, one of the oldest and most revered of the classic books of China. They enable us to accurately identify the characteristics of true yin and yang (the male and female principles) as they apply to living a balanced and harmonious life. This also helps to identify those factors responsible for shaping personal destiny and most importantly, the reduction of harmful and habituated patterns of behaviour.
Feng Shui - Inner/Outer alignment
Naturally, our inner world (the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being) is a mirror and a reflection of our outer world (environment and personal space). Feng Shui is a proven vehicle through which anyone can bring balance to both. This then makes it possible to attract the most beneficial ingredients for success into your life so that every base is covered and nothing is left unattended.
Exercise Therapy
Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Tao-Yin - are all comprehensive, therapeutic exercise disciplines that combine integrated physical movements with mental cultivation and aim to regulate both breathing and posture. These activities are specifically designed to direct and promote the free flowing movement of energy throughout the body. The main benefit is the proper maintenance of Yin and Yang, which promotes health and a greater sense of wellbeing.
